Cathedral

I am a very bad reader. I just read and dont understand it most of the times. This story was really good. I actually understood the whole thing. In cathedral Bub did not seem to like the Blind man at first. It is like if Bub did not want him to come into his home. In Cathedral Bub states "Now this same blind man was coming over to sleep in my house"(5). When Bub states this he says it as if he did not want him to come. It is kinda like Bub was judging the blind man for being blind. I have had that problem before. I have judged a person just because of the way they look. The few times i have done that i have come to realise i was totally wrong about that person. Same thing in Cathedral Bub came to realize at the end that the blind mad was a great guy. So great that the blind man made Bub feel something he had never felt before. We need to learn how to give everyone a chance and not judge them. That is because you never know who is the person that might have the biggest impact in your life. Thats why after reading this story i am going to try even harder in not judging anyone. Its kinda like they say "dont judge a book by its cover". One has to get to know the person better before one can say something about them.

All my life i have had the struggle of not having a father around. He has never came to talk to me, well as far as i remember. Mom said he was around for about two months only. I would expect him to at least come apologize or give an explanation of why he left. But that has not happen and probly never will. In Allegory of the Cave Socrates says " He will require to grow accustomed to the sight of the upper world"(21). In this quote socrates is saying that one day he will have to accept the reality and realized he made a big mistake. Once he sees that i did something with my life he is probly going to be part of it. Once he sees that i have a good career and make good money he is gonna need me. But im never going to be there for him if that was to happen. Just like he was never there for me when i needed him.
